We gather for a couple of hours on a weekday once during each school holiday period for bereaved siblings to spend time with other families like theirs, an opportunity for them to feel the safe validation that this provides.
After the little ones burn some energy we partake in an activity which will:
- Normalise using their siblings name
- Normalise having a conversation around a memory/emotion
- Helps them slow down and observe and explore a thought or feeling
- Create a visual and tactile sensory experience
The children will be guided in an age appropriate way, and in response to their individual needs and comfort. Plus some take-home resources.
Those who are trying to conceive or are pregnant after loss will also find this a really safe and supportive space to talk about their experiences, all community members are also warmly welcomed. We’re all bereaved here, this is a safe place for you always.
Email Bonnie for information about the next event date and to RSVP. You are also welcome to follow our state Facebook group for updates and info.
A gentle reminder: Our community events are not formal support groups, but rather a space for all to come together, no matter where you are on your journey. Whether you’re navigating childlessness, trying to conceive, currently pregnant, or simply seeking a space for all to come together, no matter where you are on your journey. We embrace the diversity of experiences and look forward to creating a warm, supportive space for all.
