Much research is undertaken in Australia and internationally into perinatal death, Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), Sudden Unexpected Death in Childhood and adolescence and grief and bereavement. The Red Nose Librarian searches for and catalogues research and statistics to assist families in accessing current research relevant to their experiences and to provide a resource for Red Nose staff and scientific advisors to draw on to ensure that Red Nose recommendations and programmes are evidence based.

This collection, known as the ASK Online catalogue, includes:

> published research (journal articles, books or book chapters) on the sudden and unexpected death of a child and the support of families affected by the tragedy of the death of a child

> statistics related to the incidence of sudden unexpected death in utero, infancy, childhood and adolescence in Australia

Around 25 records are added to the ASK Online collection every week. Keep an eye on the Red Nose website for the statistical summaries and bibliographies that are prepared using this invaluable resource and posted on the website to update site visitors on the latest research developments.
